5 Reasons
Every Child Should Be Enrolled in Karate
Improved Report
Cards:
Our curriculum
is designed to teach children the importance of
concentration. Improved concentration means that your child
will learn more at school. Therefore, you can expect your
child to receive better grades for both academics and
attitude. In our school, children who achieve positive
results for working hard are rewarded by being able to get
promoted to the next level of experience.
Karate builds healthy kids:
Karate is a
great workout. Your child will breathe better, eat better,
and sleep better. Children who take karate are slimmer, make
better decisions about food, and in general, learn to take
better care of themselves. We teach our students that
smoking or using drugs will only reduce their mental and
physcial growth.
Positive Attitudes:
Kids in our program learn to have a positive and respectful
attitude. You won't find yourself repeating yourself over
and over, or arguing with your child like most parents do.
Kids learn to be respectful of their parents and teachers.
You might even catch your child saying "Yes Ma'am" or "Yes
Sir!"
Self-Confidence:
It's true, kids who take Karate develop better
self-confidence. They're encouraged to take chances, to push
themselves further that they thought possible. The success
they experience through Karate teaches them that they can be
successful at anything if they truly believe they can, and
are willing to work hard. Improved confidence leads to
better grades, a better circle of friends, better
performance in sports and extracurricular activities in
general.
Self-Protection:
Karate teaches two forms of self-defense. One is physical -
your child will improve his or her strength, flexibility and
overall health. Additionally, your child will learn to
strike with tremendous power and effectiveness. Hopefully,
your child will never be picked on or need to fight. But
should the occasion arise, shouldn't everyone know how to
defend themselves? The second for of self-defense teaches is
internal. Children learn to spot dangerous situations and
avoid dangerous people, places and activities. Karate can
help your child completely avoid the need for a physical
confrontation. This is the most valuable form of
self-protection.
Our classes are broken down by age and ability. This
lets us focus on each student at the appropriate level.
Children are challenged properly when their skill level
increases. This provides them with a curriculum that grows
as they do. This teaching mythology makes sure no student is
ever over challenged or under challenged. We teach our
students stranger danger, bully prevention, character
development as well as the physical benefits of
health and fitness! We break down our programs into several
categories.
Basic Level:
Everyone starts here. We focus on increasing each students
ability on the basic format of martial arts training. Basic
blocks, stances and kicks are taught in a nurturing manner.
Students are taught the traditions of how to bow, as well as
learn to focus and control themselves. This instills the
qualities of discipline and respect, not to mention children at
this level have a ton of fun!
Intermediate Level: Here
students are engaged in learning ancient forms and drills. Each
student progresses through the learning of interactive contact
or sparring. This is done in a safe and supervised atmosphere
where students learn the qualities of "healthy competition" in a
unique manner. Students learn the appropriate ways of dealing
with bullies and learn to be assertive, not aggressive.
Advanced Level: Here the ancient Okinawan Weapons or “Kobudo” is introduced
to the students. The brown belt and higher levels learn
traditional weapon forms and use of them in life. Weapons are an
extension of our bodies and one must learn how to use their body
before using additional weapons. Throws and takedowns are
improved at this level as well as "FOM" which stands for "Focus
On Form" This creates a disciplined individual with respect for
themselves, the art, and others.
Black Belt Level: At this level,
you must be a black belt in order to train with life protection techniques.
Also including multiple self
defense tactics and advanced forms and combinations. Students at
black belt level continue their journey learning armed and
unarmed assault prevention, advanced weapon retention, complex
combinations as well as drills and skills set for a higher level
of rank.
STORM Team Level: This is our best of the best “Leadership Program” where we
S.T.O.R.M. stands for "Super Team Of Role Models" where we instill qualities of a leader. This program is comprised of hand
picked students that must be nominated by an instructor in order
to participate. It is a limited group that learns the in’s
and out’s of being a quality leader, how to treat and teach
others. This program is the back bone of our system. To pass on
the teachings that our instructors have given to us. This is the
highest respect a student can earn.
"It is a great honor to
follow, but an even greater one to lead!"
